A Tearful Reception

An Iranian murderess who spent eight years on death row released and returned home Thursday. Afsaneh Nowroozi was sentenced to death in 2001 for murdering a police chief, after he tried to rape her in June 1997. He was a friend of her husband!
She arrived at Tehran airport from Kish Island where the murder had been happened.

She received a not forgettable reception by relatives, many of them in tears, where family member distributed sweets and candy and then they went to have the first lunch after freedom in a restaurant. She shows the letter of the court to all press correspondents.

With her Family

For the first time people red the story in Iran newspaper and then she became an important case for feminists. Women's activists drew the attention of international groups as well, to grant her freedom
It happened when a charity organization (Setad e Dieh of Hormozgan province in cooperation with Iran newspaper) collect and paid the victim's family about U.S.D. 35000.
It happened because the rules and laws had the capability to find the solution!
It happened because there was a positive look, to give her back her freedom!!
