What a disaster!!

A huge earthquake has killed at least 10,000 people in ancient Silk Road city of Bam in south-eastern Iran. Thousands more are likely to be found dead. I believe that the real number at the end, unfortunately, gets more and more. Up to 30,000 people have been injured in and around the city. Others are still trapped under the rubble. Many people were believed to be buried under rubble. They estimate that 70% of the city damaged. It struck at around 5.30am local time, when many people would have been at home, crushed to death when the buildings collapsed. As a viewer when I was watching news in television I could see that almost the ordinary buildings in the city had been collapsed completely and nobody is responsible for the quality of construction which caused such a disaster!!
I remember the massive earthquake of 1990 in north of Iran where I was born and when I was on the road going to Rasht. When it happened I was in the car not driving, but the driver thought something happened to the car. After 5 hours of driving between the rocks and on the destroyed road we should leave the car in Manjil, k.m.90 to Rast and it was 6 a.m. In fact I had no choice except going to Rasht on foot to see what happened to my relatives, and I did it. On k.m.35 to Rasht we could see some buses were waiting to take injured people and passengers to the town.
At that time in the big cities like Rasht where the quality of construction was a little bit better we had less destruction but when does it get better?
Why nobody care about the life of the people who are living in such a poor net. It makes me feel so disappointed and deep sad when I think that with a small improvement; any builder can save at least one family, against earthquake! Same as Japan or ….!
And last night was Xmas night and I can imagine how many “Tanti auguri“will be exchange, as I received from my Italian friend, Andrea with his wife (Katria) and son ( Leonardo ) signatures. It’s nice that Leonardo has no any problem and can expend his Xmas along with his lovely family. Since he is living in a safe place, everything for him is sweet today.
And in Bam everything is bitter now for everybody
Why does it feel like that? Who caused such a big tragedy?
